BLUFFTON, Ohio – Sophomore Jenna Liechty (Goshen, Ind./Bethany Christian) has been named All-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference in women’s tennis. It was the second year in a row that Liechty earned all-conference honors. In 2003 she was also named the HCAC freshman-of-the-year.
Liechty ended the 2004 season with a 5-5 dual match record at the No. 1 singles position. In the Heartland Conference tournament she won her opening round match and dropped her final two contests to go 1-2.
“No matter what we do, Jenna goes full-force whether it be at practice, running, a match or with the team,” head coach Jessica Grandey said. “I know that I can always depend on Jenna and that she is always focused on the right things during the season.”
As a team the Beavers finished 2004 with a 4-6 overall record and 3-4 HCAC record. Bluffton improved on their 2003 tournament finish (eighth) as they placed fifth this season.
