BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University women’s tennis team (3-2, 2-1 HCAC) went undefeated today in singles play against the Findlay Oilers and won the match 8-1.
The Beavers completely dominated in the singles play with Senior Stephanie Keefe (Tiffin/Calvert) leading the way by not losing a single game. Sophomore Lisa Cherry (Waterville/Anthony Wayne) and Junior Kara Schrock (Middlebury, Ind./Northridge) were as impressive by only losing one game a piece. Sophomore Jenna Liechty (Goshen, Ind./Bethany Christian) had a little more difficulty in her No. 1 singles match, yet still won in strait sets. Freshman Kelly Metzger (Bluffton/Bluffton) also won her singles match 3-0, with her opponent retiring due to injury.
The Beavers will be back in action Saturday at Anderson University for a three way match vs. Anderson and Franklin with the first match starting at noon.
