Four Beavers named 2006 Academic All-Ohio by the OCSA

BLUFFTON, Ohio - Four Bluffton University soccer players were recently named 2006 Academic All-Ohio by the Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association.

To be nominated for the awards, male and female soccer players must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale while starting in more than half of his/her team's games at the nominated position. The individual also needs to be at least a sophomore academically. 

The Beavers placed two individuals on the first team. Sophomore Nate Flath (Wadsworth/Wadsworth), who capped off his 2006 season by being named All-Great Lakes Region by D3Kicks.com, was the lone male selected from Bluffton, while Jessica Good (Elida/Elida) was selected to the first team on the women's side.

Elyse Burckhart (Telford, Pa./Souderton) and Allison White (Lima/Shawnee) were both named to the second team for their efforts on the field and in the classroom in 2006.

Other HCAC players named 2006 All-Ohio Academic were Kate Henlein (first team) and Sandy Rack (second team), both from the College of Mount St. Joseph.
