Nine Bluffton soccer players earn HCAC All-Academic honors for work in the classroom
Bluffton University soccer teams once again displayed their strength in the classroom by leading the HCAC with the most (soccer) athletes named to the Academic All-HCAC team. On the women's side, senior Gina Berelsman repeated with honors for the second straight year while senior Thomas Dunn also repeated for the men's team.
Bluffton blazed the way in 2005 by placing nine. Those varsity athletes completing a full academic year while being enrolled full time at their institution and achieving a minimum grade point average culminating with the semester prior to the completion of the season are:
Micah Boehr - So.
Thomas Dunn - Sr.
Brandon Olterman - So.
Colin Roynon - Sr.
Gina Berelsman - Sr.
Rachel Dionne - So.
Gina Elsea - So.
Kenzey Meyer - So.
Eva Voth - Sr.
The five women's soccer players with academic honors are the most of any school in the conference while the men finished with twice as many as any other team. In addition to having five players named, the women's team also enjoyed the distinction of meeting the standard and being named as an All-Academic Team. Much is expected of subsequent teams in the future as current teams have set the pace for excellence in the classroom.
