Women's Soccer drop two conference matches

BLUFFTON, Ohio – The Bluffton University women’s soccer team (4-7, 0-5) fell in two conference matches to Manchester and Franklin last week.

On Wednesday the Beavers traveled to Manchester and were defeated by the Spartans, 5-0.

The Beavers came up short on Saturday in very frigid weather conditions to the Franklin Grizzlies by a score of 2-0.  Senior goalkeeper Rochelle Saccomen (Ashland/Ashland) posted nine saves for the match.

The Beavers are led offensively thus far in the season by sophomore Brianne Von Lehmden (Ft. Jennings/Ft. Jennings).  She has accumulated eight total points this season with four goals, two being game winners.  Right behind her is sophomore Jen Hoyt (Springfield/Kenton Ridge) and senior Jen Byrne (Oak Harbor/Oak Harbor) with six points each.  Senior goalkeeper Rochelle Saccomen (Ashland/Ashland) has totaled 104 saves with four shutouts on the season.

Bluffton will be back in action this Tuesday at home against Cincinnati Bible College. Start time is scheduled for 4 p.m. The Beavers will then return to conference action this upcoming Saturday at home against Transylvania, start time is scheduled for noon.
