The Bluffton University women’s soccer team (4-4) were up and down this week with both a victory and a loss.
On Tuesday the Beavers posted a thrilling 1-0 victory in double overtime over Lake Erie College. The Beavers dominated the contest in shots on goal with 10 to Lake Erie’s four. The lone goal in the match was recorded by Sophomore Brianne Von Lehmden (Ft. Jennings/Ft. Jennings) in the 114th minute. Senior goalkeeper Rochelle Saccomen (Ashland/Ashland) was also able to post her third shutout this season.
Saturday the Beavers dropped their conference opener at Hanover 2-0. Bluffton was led in shots by Freshman Kenzey Meyer (Hilliard/Hilliard Darby) and Sophomore Brianne Von Lehmden (Ft. Jennings/Ft. Jennings) with two each.
The Beavers will be back in action Tuesday October 5, at home hosting Defiance. Start time is scheduled for 4 p.m.
