Jenifer Byrne named HCAC player of week

BLUFFTON, OHIO – Bluffton College junior Jenifer Byrne (Oak Harbor/Oak Harbor) has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference’s player of the week. Byrne received the honor for her efforts in the Beaver’s first win of the season against Concordia 4-0. She posted three goals for the hat-trick to lead Bluffton on the evening.
“It’s a great step for us (team), not only for her individual honor, but for the entire team in the win,” coach Steve Smucker said. “The shutout win was a big plus too coming out of Friday’s match.”
Bluffton (1-5) will be in action Tuesday when they travel to Cincinnati Bible. Start time is slated for 4 p.m.
