Karin Schaller posts third double double of year; Christina Champion has career high day in points with 10

The Bluffton College women’s basketball team (0-5) were defeated by Denison University (5-3) 83-47 on Saturday afternoon.

The Beavers’ 47 points were their second highest point total of the season to date. As a team Bluffton went 7-for-8 from the free throw line for the best free throw percentage of the year at .875 percent. As a team, Bluffton took eight steals which is also their second best total of the season. Denison shot 46 percent for the game, compared to the Beavers 34 percent.

Sophomore Karin Schaller (Jenera/Arlington) posted her third double double of year with 11 points and 15 rebounds. Senior Lindsay Bacon (Troy/Troy) led the team with 14 points. Junior Christina Champion (Oregon/Clay) had a career high day in points with 10 for the contest to finish the double digit scoring.

Bluffton will be back in action this Monday when they travel to Goshen. Tip off for the contest is scheduled for 7 pm.
