The Bluffton College athletic department has accepted the resignation of head women’s basketball coach Cathy Bonner.
Bonner, who cited family reasons for her resignation, steps down after one season as head coach and assistant professor of health, physical education and recreation. She took over the Bluffton program last July for Michele Durand, who won a school-record 121 games in 11 seasons at BC before accepting the head coaching position at Ohio Northern University.
Bluffton posted a 0-25 record during the 2001-02 season and ended a three-year streak of advancing the semi-finals of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference tournament.
