James totaled 30 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists in the two games last week, while Robinson totaled 24 points and 14 boards.
The Beavers fell in both contests, however, and see their season record now stand at 0-6 overall and 0-2 in the HCAC. Bluffton will travel to Adrian College (Mich.) on Wednesday night and will return to action after exams on Sat. Dec. 15 at home against The College of Mount St. Joseph at 2:00.
Manchester recap
Four Bluffton College players collected at least one career-high, but it wasn’t enough as the Beavers fell to Manchester College 80-71 in Founders Hall Wednesday night.
James established new career highs with 20 points and six assists, while Robinson scored a career high 17 points. Junior Heather Demery (Cleveland/Lutheran West) hit for career highs with seven points and six rebounds, and sophomore Karen Harris (Bowling Green) grabbed a career high nine rebounds and tied a career high with eight assists.
Bluffton led 38-35 at halftime, but Manchester shot 54.3% from the floor in the second half to take a 12-point lead with under five minutes to go in the game. There were 18 ties or lead changes in the first half before BC took a three-point lead at the intermission. Junior Paula Fry's layup with 13:55 left in the game gave Bluffton their biggest lead of the night before an 18-5 Manchester run swung the momentum to the visitors.
Hanover recap
Bluffton improved their shooting percentage nearly 10% from the first half to the second half, but Hanover controlled the boards and shot 81% from the free throw line to take a 77-52 win over the Beavers Saturday afternoon in Founders Hall.
A 9-0 run by Bluffton gave the BC a five-point lead early in the game and four straight points by Robinson tied the game at 13-13 with 11:42 left in the first half. A 12-0 Panther run before halftime, however, produced an 18 point lead for the visitors and Bluffton didn't threaten again.
Junior Michelle Ray (Kenton) led Bluffton with 13 points, while sophomore Karen Harris (Bowling Green) added 11 points. James collected 10 points and led BC with four assists and eight rebounds.
