Winter 2005 Academic All-Conference

Bluffton athletes honored for efforts in classroom

BLUFFTON, Ohio –The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference has announced the Academic All-Conference selections for the 2004-05 winter sports. Seven Bluffton University winter sport student-athletes were named to the list.

To be named Academic All-HCAC a student must have a 3.50 grade point average culminating with the semester prior to completion of the season.  Each recipient must have completed a full academic year, be a full time enrolled student at the institution and a varsity athlete. 

“We are very pleased and excited with the performance of our student-athletes on and off the court at Bluffton. I’m happy to see them receive recognition for their efforts in the classroom,” athletics director Phill Talavinia said.

The following Bluffton University athletes were named Academic All-HCAC for the winter of 2004-05:

Men’s Basketball
Nathan Chivington (Trenton/Miami East), Tom Heil (Stow/Archbishop Hoban), Tony Mass (Tiffin/Calvert), David Patch (Minster/Minster) and Eric Schwieterman (St. Henry/St. Henry)

Women’s Basketball
Christina Champion (Oregon/Clay) and Karin Schaller (Jenera/Arlington)
