BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University volleyball team (11-11, 0-3) was defeated by the Spartans of Manchester in three games on Wednesday, October 12, 2005. Game scores were 30-24, 30-15 and 30-20.
Bluffton traveled to Manchester on Wednesday night and dropped their third consecutive Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference match. The fired up Spartans improved to 7-14, 1-2 HCAC as they kept the Beavers off balance the entire night. Senior Keri Kuhlman (Shelby/Shelby) was the only Beaver with double digit kills as she recorded ten in the loss. Sophomore Rachel Alvarez (Convoy/Crestview) picked up 11 digs to lead Bluffton defensively. Junior Brittany Shultz (Hudson, Ind./Prairie Heights) led the Beavers with 16 assists.
Bluffton will be back in action this Saturday, October 14 when they travel to face HCAC rival Transylvania. The match is slated to begin at 7 p.m.
