BLUFFTON, Ohio – The Bluffton University volleyball team (8-6) defeated Otterbein College (3-8) 3-1 on Sept. 19 at Founders Hall. Match scores were 30-28, 18-30, 30-28 and 30-22.
Leading the Beavers in their victory was sophomore Rachel Alvarez (Convoy/Crestview) who hit at a .400 clip and recorded 22 digs. Senior Keri Kuhlman (Shelby/Shelby) finished with 11 kills and three service aces. Sophomore Mariel Nash (Loudonville/Loudonville) put on a dazzling display at the net as she recorded a team high 17 kills and nine blocks. Freshman Chelsea Wyse (Archbold/Archbold) led the Beavers with four aces while junior Brittany Schultz (Hudson, Ind./Prairie Heights) paced Bluffton with 23 assists.
The Beavers will be back in action this Friday, Sept. 23 when they travel to play in the Ohio Wesleyan tournament.
