10-6 weekly recap

   The Bluffton College volleyball (11-11, 2-1 HCAC) team continued their Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference season by splitting on the week. Their first game came on Tuesday when they traveled to Defiance and lost 3-0 (26-30, 26-30, 18-30). On Friday the Beavers went to Transylvania and won 3-1 (27-30, 30-24, 30-25, 30-21).

 

   Against Defiance Jr. Jill Rothe (Wapakoneta/St. Marys) and Sr. Jenae Meck (Archbold/Pettisville) posted nine kills each. Jr. Kelly Kettinger (Oregon/Clay) had the team high 23 digs for the game. On Saturday vs. Transylvania, Kettinger posted a team high 14 kills. Jr. Erin Kreim (New Washington/Buckeye Central) had 23 digs for the contest.

  
   Jr. Karah Weldy (Archbold/Archbold) is second in the HCAC in digs with 382 on the year (5.16 dpg), following at a close third is Kettinger with 317 total (4.88 dpg). So. Keri Kuhlman (Shelby/Shelby) is fourth in the conference in blocks with 82 total (1.09 per game).

 

   The Beavers will be back in action this Saturday at home when they host HCAC opponent Hanover at noon and Denison at 2 p.m.
