Division III All-Academic Teams
BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University women's track and field team capped off an impressive first seaason under Coach Brandt when it was named as a United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) 2012 Division III All-Academic Track and Field Team. The remarkable 3.64 GPA posted by the women was the second highest in the nation behind Ursinus which finished with a 3.71 team GPA. Bluffton was one of 137 women's teams to finish above the required 3.10 team recognition needed to earn All-Academic status.
The women's track & field team at Wartburg College was named Scholar Team of the Year in Division III for the both indoor and outdoor 2012 seasons by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). The Wartburg squads earned the distinction as a result of being the highest-placing teams with at least a 3.10 cumulative GPA at the most recent NCAA indoor and outdoor championship, respectively.
The national award follows on the heels of Bluffton having six members from outdoor track and field receive Academic All-Conference honors for 2011-12. Senior Andrew Chaffee (Clarkston, Mich.) and junior Chris Arnold (Fort Wayne, Ind./Canterbury) from the men's team as well as senior Megan Neal (Arlington) along with sophomores Kayla Mullenhour (Delphos/Jefferson), Brandi Dominique (Wauseon) and Julie Court (Galion) from the women's squad were recognized. Chaffee earned Academic All-HCAC honors for the third consecutive year, while Neal and Arnold both notched the honor for the second straight season. In addition, the women's indoor and outdoor track and field squads were recognized as Academic All-Conference by the HCAC.
