BC to participate in NCAA’s Take a Kid to the Game program Saturday as Beavers host Transylvania

January 10, 2002

All kids ages 14 and younger will be admitted free to a pair of Bluffton College basketball games this Saturday, January 12 in Founders Hall as BC sponsors the Take a Kid to the Game program.

The men’s and women’s basketball teams from Transylvania University (Ky.) will come to town to take on the Beavers in key Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference games for both teams. The women’s game tips off at 1:00, followed by the men’s game at approximately 3:00.

This one-of-a-kind initiative will be promoted at more than 500 women’s and men’s collegiate basketball games across the country this season. The program, which is presented by Regal by Buick and supported by NCAA Basketball, is entering its sixth year. Bluffton College is in its third season as a member school of the Take a Kid to the Game program.

Host Communications, Inc. created Take a Kid to the Game as a method to encourage fans to take kids to arenas to experience intercollegiate athletics.
