BLUFFTON, OHIO – The Bluffton College softball team (14-2, 4-0 HCAC) beat Manchester College (4-10, 0-2 HCAC) 2-1 and 3-1 at Marbeck Field on Wednesday afternoon.

The win improves Bluffton to a flawless 4-0 record in the Heartland Conference with a nine game winning streak for the season. Sophomore Sarah Betts (Bryan/Bryan) recorded 13 strikeouts over both games to bring her ERA to 0.38 for the season. With the two wins, Betts moves her record to 13-1 for the year.

Bluffton recorded no extra base hits in the first game. Manchester scored their lone run in the top of the seventh as they tried to rally, but came up short. Junior Lane Leedy (Bellville/Clear Fork) smacked out the Beavers only extra base hit of the day with a double to centerfield in the second game.

The Beavers will be back in action this weekend at Rochester College. The non-conference doubleheader is slated to start at 1 pm.
