Softball splits on day in Rebel Spring Games

KISSIMMEE, FL. - The Bluffton College softball team (3-1) split in their second day of play in the Rebel Spring Games. The Beavers lost to the University of St. Francis 10-1 in game one and beat Widener College 3-1 in the second game of the day. 
Junior Lane Leedy (Belleville/Clear Fork) had the Beavers only extra base hit of the day with a double. Freshman Mikah Coffindaffer (Maineville/Homeschool) started on the mound and was replaced by freshman Andrea Wilson (Mansfield/Ontario) in the fourth inning. Errors hurt Bluffton as they committed six for the game.
Against Widener, the Beavers took more control of the field as they did not commit any errors for the game. Sophomore Sarah Betts (Bryan/Bryan) won on the mound, knocking down 11 strikeouts, only one hit and one walk for
the outing. Lane Leedy and Allison Lange (Archbold/Archbold) both hit doubles
Bluffton will be back in action tomorrow when they play Eastern at 8:50 am and Concordia at 10:40 am.
