Road trip

   BLUFFTON, OHIO – The men’s (4-10-1, 0-4 HCAC) and women’s (1-11, 0-4 HCAC) soccer teams had doubleheaders on both Friday and Saturday. Friday the teams met Thomas More and Saturday BC traveled to HCAC rival Transylvania for the contest.

    On Friday at Thomas More the men were defeated 2-0. Goalkeeper Ryan Thomas (Jamestown/Greenview) posted six saves at goal. The women were defeated 5-0 by Thomas More with Jen Hoyt (Springfield/Kenton Ridge) posting the only shot on the day. Goalkeeper Rochelle Saccomen (Ashland/Ashland) had 10 saves at goal.

    At
Transylvania, the Pioneers seemed too much for the Beavers as the men lost 3-1 and the women 6-0. In the men’s game Jon Lindow (Columbia Station/Padua Franciscan) had the lone goal with the assist from Chad Perry (Dover/Dover). Keeper Ryan Thomas had five saves on the match. On the women’s side Meredith Ingle (Pleasant Hill/Newton Local) had three shots for the Beavers. Saccomen had 10 saves for the match.

    The men will be back in action on Wednesday when they host rival Defiance. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. The women will be back in action on Tuesday when they host HCAC foe Manchester. Kickoff for the game is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
