BC golfers shoot season low round at HCAC championship

The Bluffton College men’s golf team shot a season-low round of 337 to highlight the action in the 2001 Heartland Conference championship last weekend hosted by Hanover College. The Beavers finished with a two-day total of 697 to finish sixth in the HCAC this season.

Their team score of 337 came in the first round as all five BC golfers finished under 90, led by senior Bob Day’s round of 82. Junior Andy Bixler shot an 83 on the first day and his 87 on the second day was the lone BC score under 90 as he finished with a team-best total of 170 for the championship.

Seniors Scott Coffman and Aaron Barrett both shot a two-day total of 176, while Day finished with a 177 and senior Josh Zechman carded a 181.
