Crall and Snavely nominated for Verizon Academic All-America Team

A pair of Bluffton College women’s basketball student-athletes have been nominated for the 2001 Verizon Academic All-America Team. The two nominees are senior Elizabeth Snavely, a sports management major from Defiance, Ohio (Defiance HS) and senior Kristy Crall, a recreation management major from Bucyrus, Ohio (Wynford HS).

Snavely is averaging 11.6 points and 6.1 rebounds per game this season. She is the leader of the balanced Bluffton offense that is currently ranked third in the Heartland Conference. Snavely was a second team All-Heartland Conference selection last year as she averaged 15.3 points and 6.3 rebounds per game. She is also the President of the Sports Management club at Bluffton.

Crall is averaging 8.9 points per game this year and is currently ranked in the top five in the Heartland Conference in assists, steals, and 3-pointers made. She has led the team in minutes played the past two seasons and started all 26 games last season.

Bluffton is now 9-10 overall and will travel to Hanover College on Saturday.
