Men's tennis falls to Ohio Northern 6-3

BLUFFTON, OHIO – The Bluffton College men’s tennis team (4-3, 2-1 HCAC) were defeated by Ohio Northern University (11-3) on Tuesday by a final score of 6-3.

Senior Kyle Sprunger (Berne, Ind./South Adams) was the only Beaver to record two victories on the day as he prevailed in his #4 singles match as well as #2 doubles with senior Brad Boyles (Berne, Ind/South Adams).  Sprunger and Boyles are now 7-0 for the season at #2 doubles.  Senior Dan Wott (Fremont/Clyde) picked up the other lone win for Bluffton at the #3 singles position.

The Beavers will be back into action tomorrow when they host Heartland Conference opponent Anderson University.  The match is scheduled to start at 3 pm.

No.1 -  Romanello (ONU) defeated Beck (BC) 6-1, 6-0
No. 2 –McEnery (ONU) defeated Boyles (BC) 6-2, 6-4
No. 3 –Wott (BC) defeated Tehan (ONU) 7-6 (7-3), 6-2
No. 4 - Sprunger (BC) defeated Hafer (ONU) 7-6 (7-3), 6-4
No. 5 – Boyer (ONU) defeated Martin (BC) 6-4, 6-4
No. 6 - Major (ONU) defeated Nussbaum (BC) 6-4, 6-1
Doubles
No. 1 –McEnery and Hafer (ONU) defeated Beck and Wott (BC) 8-3
No. 2 - Boyles and Sprunger (BC) defeated Romanello and Boyer (ONU) 8-3
No. 3 –Tehan and Major (ONU) defeated Martin and Nussbaum (BC) 8-1
