BLUFFTON, Ohio – The Bluffton University men’s soccer team (2-9, 1-2 HCAC) were defeated by Indiana Tech (7-6-2) 2-1 on Monday afternoon at Beaver field.
Bluffton got on the board first at the 29 minute mark when sophomore Justin Rohrer (Millersburg/West Holmes) knocked in the goal to give the Beavers the lead. Freshman Tyler Chapman (Shreve/Triway) posted the assist.
Indiana Tech scored early in the second half at the 48 minute mark to tie the game and would score again late in the game(83rd minute) for the final of 2-1.
“We played very well at times today and then lost our head at key moments,” head coach Steve Smucker said. “When we went up a player (I.T. lost a player to red card) and didn’t capitalize, that hurt us. We are a young team and those things are just going to happen.”
Bluffton University will be at home on Saturday for an HCAC contest against Franklin College. Game time is scheduled for 3 p.m.
