The Bluffton College men’s soccer team (4-4) won their third contest in a row Wednesday night 2-0 over Taylor Fort Wayne. The Beavers have now won four of their last five games and picked up their first shutout win of the season. Justin Rohrer (Millersburg/West Holmes) led Bluffton with both goals on the night. Andrew Ferguson (Fredonia, Ny./Fredonia) and Chad Perry (Dover/Dover) posted one assist each. Goalkeeper Ryan Thomas (Jamestown/Greeneview) had two saves at goal.

“Our goal is to play the best soccer possible. When that happens the wins will happen,” Coach Steve Smucker said. “I was very pleased to get the shutout, that was our goal for the match. If we want to do well in our conference we have to tighten things defensively though.”

Bluffton currently has two players among the league’s best. Senior John Lindow ranks 3rd in points (12), 3rd in points per game (1.71) and 3rd in goals (6) while fellow senior Diego Rodriguez ranks 1st in assists (5), 1st in assists per game (0.71), 5th in points (9) and 4th in points per game (1.29).
