Beavers shoot best round of golf in school's history

BLUFFTON, OHIO – The Bluffton College men’s golf team played an incredible round of golf on Friday as they tied the record for the lowest single round of golf in the school’s history at 308.  The record of 308 was set on April 14, 1981 at Manchester College.
   Sophomore Scott Bergman (Elmore/Woodmore) shot a 3-under par 69 to earn medalist honors at the invitational with the Beavers earning second place as a team. Senior Trevor Thomas (Jamestown/Greeneview) finished well for the day with a 79. Junior Rick Pagniano (Wooster/Northwestern) and sophomore Nick Schreck (Galion/Galion) both shot an 80, respectively.
   The Beavers will conclude their season next Friday and Saturday when they participate in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference golf tournament at
Manchester College. The tournament will be the final contest ever for the team as 2004 is the last season that Bluffton College will field a men's golf team.
