Men's golf places fifth at Tri-State

BLUFFTON, OHIO – The Bluffton College men’s golf team placed an impressive fifth place out of eleven teams at Tri-State on Wednesday.  The Beavers shot a 311, which is good for the second best single round score in Bluffton’s golf history.  The record for a single round is 308, shot in 1981.

Bluffton was led by sophomore Scott Bergman (Elmore/Woodmore) who shot a one-over-par 73.  It was the second match in a row that Bergman’s shot a 73.  Junior Rick Pagniano (Wooster/Northwestern) also shot well for the Beavers as he notched a 77 for the day.  Freshman Matt Keeler (Bluffton/Bluffton), senior Trevor Thomas (Jamestown/Greeneview), and sophomore Nick Schreck (Galion/Galion) rounded out the scoring for Bluffton with an 80, 81, and 83, respectfully.

The team will be back in action on Monday April 19 when they travel to Kettering Country Club to take on Heartland Conference rival Defiance.
