BLUFFTON, OHIO – The Bluffton College men’s golf team broke the record for best double-round in school history with a 649 in the Oiler Spring Invitational at Sycamore Springs and Red Hawk Run golf courses in Findlay last weekend.  The team finished in 13th place.

Bluffton was led by junior Rick Pagiano (Wooster/Northwestern) who shot two rounds of 79 to finish with a 158.  Sophomore Scott Bergman (Elmore/Woodmore) shot well and finished with a 159 after rounds of 77 and 82.  The former record for a double-round tournament by Bluffton was a 655 shot in 1991.  The team shot a 319 at Sycamore Springs and a 330 at Red Hawk Run to finish 6 strokes better than the previous record.

The Beavers will be back into action on Wednesday when they travel to Tri-State University.
