The Bluffton College men’s golf team traveled to Urbana University last weekend to participate in an invitational that took place on Friday and Saturday. The Beavers finished with a total score of 657 for seventh place out of 10 competing squads.

Freshman Scott Bergman (Elmore/Woodmore H.S.) and sophomore Rick Pagniano (Wooster/Northwestern H.S.) had an excellent weekend as they shot in the 70’s on both days. Prior to this season, the last time two BC golfers both shot in the 70’s in a match was in 1987, but that feat has already occurred twice in 2003, as Bergman and junior Trevor Thomas (Jamestown/Greenview H.S.) both carded 70s two weeks ago prior to Bergman teaming up with Pagniano over the weekend.

Against Urbana, Bergman led the squad with a total score of 154 (79 day one, 75 day two) and Pagniano finished one stroke behind with a score of 155 (76 day one, 79 day two).

Rounding out the scores for the Beavers were junior Clint Dillon (Bucyrus) with a total score of 172, freshman Nick Schreck (Galion) with a 176, and freshman David Sekki (Painesville/Harvey H.S.) with a 186.

BC will see action twice this week as they travel to Defiance on Tuesday, April 15 before heading to Siena Heights on Thursday, April 17.
