BLUFFTON, Ohio – The Bluffton University men’s basketball team (2-2) lost their 2004-05 home opener to Heidelberg College 93-86. The Beavers led the contest at the half 49-45, but the second half saw the Student Princes take the game away.
Bluffton had three players in double figure scoring on the game. Junior Scott Bergman (Elmore/Woodmore) led all scores with a career-high 29 points for the contest. Bergman also posted five rebounds and three assists on the evening. Junior Eric Sweet (Ottawa/Ottawa-Glandorf) netted 15 points, four rebounds and a career high four blocks. Junior Michael Kingsley (Bluffton/Bluffton) added 12 points and three assists to the total.
Michael Anthony (Ohio City/Delphos St. John’s) led the Beavers in rebounding with six grabs. The sophomore also contributed eight points and three assists. Junior Simeon Talley (Columbus/Centennial) led the assists column with five for the game.
Bluffton University will be back in action this Wednesday when they host Kenyon College in Founders Hall. Game time is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
