Millikin downs Lake Erie

   Millikin University defeated Lake Erie College 87-76 in the consolation game of the McDonald’s of Bluffton Holiday Tournament. Millikin increases their overall record to 7-2 with the win while Lake Erie falls to a 3-9 overall mark.

 

   Millikin showed a strong offensive attack throughout the game, bouncing back from their 91-62 loss to Goshen last night. Junior Jason Fisher led the way with 31 points, just four points shy of the all-time tournament record. Fisher was 11-19 from the field including a record setting nine three pointers. Junior Chuck Williams and senior Phil Schneider each contributed 11 points in the game. Millikin posted six players with eight points or more during the contest. The Big Blue finished the game shooting 51.6 percent from the field, 54.8 percent from beyond the arc and 40 percent from the foul line.

 

   Lake Erie fell to a 57-39 deficit at the end of the first half and, despite out scoring Millikin 37-30 in the second half, were unable to complete the comeback. Leading the way for The Storm was freshman Jajcen Harris who notched 19 points on 7-15 shooting. Junior Trevor Replogle added 15 points including three three-pointers while senior Aaron Johnson rounded out the majority of the scoring for The Storm with 15 points. The Storm finished the game shooting 46.4 percent from the field, 41.7 percent from beyond the arc and 79.2 percent from the charity stripe.
