
Harold Garverick was a football linebacker and baseball catcher for Bluffton from 1958-60 after transferring from the
Since Garverick was a transfer student, he was not able to participate in athletics for one year. During that year he assisted football head coach Ken Mast as a student coach and led the defensive scout team. While at Bluffton he was also a member of the Boom and Bust Club, an investment group. After graduation, Garverick continued to help scout Bluffton’s opponents for a few years.
After graduation from Bluffton with a degree in business, Garverick took a position with State Farm insurance company, where he still works. He is currently an insurance agent based in
Gaverick’s numerous awards since college include “distinguished citizen of the year” from the Lake County Football Coaches Association and recognition for “outstanding contributions to sports” at
He served on the Mentor School Board for eight years and received the annual “friend of education” award, being the only school board member to receive this award. He has also taught insurance classes at
Garverick and his wife, Nola, have three adult sons—Mike, Pat and Kelly.
