BLUFFTON, Ohio – Bluffton University’s Bucky Beaver mascot had the opportunity to play in the Cleveland Force’s (indoor soccer league) mascot game on March 11. Bucky Beaver along with other mascots that represented schools and teams from across Ohio played in the Mascot Mania Halftime game.
Senior Michele Bailey (Spencerville/Spencerville) acted as the Beaver this year for men’s and women’s basketball season and traveled to Cleveland to take part in the event.
“It was a complete blast,” Bailey said. “It was so much fun being around the other mascots. After the game was over we walked around the stands and greeted kids. It was definitely a highlight of being the Beaver.”
Bailey played in the soccer game at halftime with mascots from the Toledo Mudhens, Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians, Ohio Northern University, University of Akron and many more. After the game Bailey and other participants walked around the arena to mingle with the fans and were available for pictures.
Bucky Beaver will be back in action in the fall of 2005 at home Bluffton University football games. Be sure to come out to Salzman Stadium to catch all the action.
