Jon Wheat is beginning is first year as an assistant coach with the Bluffton University football team. He is serving as the defensive line coach and video coordinator.
Wheat graduated from Hanover College with a history degree in 2009. He was a four-year letterwinner and a two-year off-season team captain. Wheat was a defensive back and long snapper for the Panthers.
For the past two years, Wheat directed the linebackers and long snappers at Hanover. In addition, he was the video and editing coordinator and the equipment manager.
Wheat served at the USA Football Coaching School hosted by the Indianapolis Colts as well as the Bishop-Dullaghan Football Camp.
He will pursue his masters degree while living in Bluffton, Ohio.
