BLUFFTON, Ohio - Bluffton University linebacker Sam McCullough (Bluffton, Ohio/Bluffton) has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Football Player of the Week on defense.
He put together a standout performance in the 14-9 season-opening loss at home to Centre on Saturday, Sept. 1, 2007. The senior racked up a game-high 15 tackles, including a blocked punt, and an interception against the Colonels.
The Beavers' defense surrendered only 202 total yards in the loss to the Colonels.
McCullough is a two-time first team All-Heartland Conference selection at linebacker.
