October 8, 2001

Bluffton College junior quarterback Brad Moore (Norwalk H.S.) has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts in leading the Beavers to a 45-7 win over The College of Mount St. Joseph on Saturday in Cincinnati.

Moore attempted just 13 passes in the game, but completed 10 of them for 206 yards and three touchdowns. His scoring passes came at lengths of 13, six and 75 yards. He also ran for a touchdown on a one-yard plunge in the first half.

Bluffton is now 1-1 in the HCAC and 2-3 overall. The Beavers return home on Saturday to take on Hanover College at 1:30 p.m. in Salzman Stadium on homecoming.

So far this season Moore has completed 52% of his passes for 678 yards and five touchdowns. Last season he became just the third player in the history of BC football to pass for over 2,000 yards in a season as he totaled 2,007 yards and 17 touchdowns through the air on his way to being named first team All-HCAC.

Moore, who set passing records at Norwalk High School, was named to the d3football.com National Team of the Week once last season, but this marks his first HCAC Player of the Week honor. He is the son of Duane and Marilyn Moore of Norwalk.
