Aschemeier named HCAC Player of the WeekBy Andy Sauder, SID AssistantMarch 27, 2000 Amy Aschemeier, a junior shortstop, was named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week last week. She helped lead Bluffton College to a 4-0 week in the HCAC including sweeps of Wilmington and Franklin. On Thursday at Wilmington Aschemeier had a game-winning RBI double in the sixth inning for a 1-0 BC victory and in the second game added a single, RBI and scored two runs. On Saturday against Franklin, Amy launched her first homerun of the season, which was a two-run shot in the second game. She added another hit and a run in the game. Amy, an HPER/Sport Management major, has started all 16 games for the Beavers. She is batting .283 on the season and is leading the team in runs scored with 13.
