Goings closing in on BC single-season rushing markNovember 6, 2000Bluffton College senior running back Tyson Goings has rushed for 1,351 yards so far this season which ranks as the second-best single season rushing performance in the history of BC football. Goings will aim to break the record of 1,414 yards set by Greg Gilcrease in 1986 when the Beavers travel to Defiance College this Saturday. Goings needs just 63 yards to accomplish that feat. Goings leads the Heartland Conference in rushing with 150.1 yards per game this season, marking the third straight season that he will lead the league in rushing and go over the 1,000 yard mark. Tyson is just the third running back in the history of BC football to rush for more than 1,000 yards in three seasons (Gilcrease and Elbert Dubenion are the other two).
