January 31, 2000

Bluffton College junior Elizabeth Snavely (Defiance High School) has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week. It marks the second time this season that Snavely has received the award.

Snavely helped lead Bluffton College to a 2-0 record last week in the HCAC, scoring 20 points in each game. On Wednesday she was 10-14 from the floor and added seven rebounds in Bluffton's 68-58 win over Mount St Joseph. Then on Saturday she was 9-17 from the field and added four rebounds, two assists, two steals and a blocked shot as the Beavers earned a 70-67 win at Hanover.

Snavely's 16.3 points per game ranks third in the conference and her .521 field goal percentage is sixth.

Bluffton is now 4-3 in the HCAC and 5-13 overall. BC will be in action again Wednesday at home against Manchester College at 7:00 p.m.
