Fouls, free throws sink BC at Siena HeightsDecember 7, 1999
Bluffton College made a couple dramatic comebacks in the second half, but the Beavers fell victim to foul trouble and Siena Heights free throws down the stretch as BC fell on the road 76-69.
BC brought the margin to three points with just over a minute to go, but Siena Heights (5-6) made their free throws and kept a cushion to hang onto the lead and post the seven point win.
Bluffton (1-5) was hampered all game by foul trouble. Junior Elizabeth Snavely, who was named the HCAC Player of the Week last week, picked up two quick fouls and sat out much of the first half. She eventually fouled out and ended the game with 10 points.
Freshman Michelle Ray led BC with 23 points, a career high. Freshman Kristin Helvey added 12, junior Jen Bear netted eight and freshman Melissa James chipped in six.
Siena Heights didn't hit a three-point basket in the contest. Both teams committed 26 turnovers in the game.
