Hook, Pequignot named first team all-conferenceNovember 7, 2000
A pair of Bluffton College volleyball players have been named first team All-Heartland Conference. Junior Mandy Pequignot, an early childhood and special education major from DeGraff (Indian Lake HS), and senior Betsy Hook, a wellness major from Wellington, led Bluffton to a 19-16 overall record this season and to the semi-finals of the HCAC tournament last weekend.
Pequignot led the Beavers in kills with 423 and attack percentage with 31.12%. Pequignot's 3.33 kills per game placed second in the HCAC and her .311 hitting percentage ranked third in the HCAC. Pequignot also received first team all HCAC honors as a sophomore and was named the HCAC Player of the Week twice this season.
Hook totaled 306 kills and a team-high 113 blocks, which ranked second in the league. Her 476 career blocks at BC is second most all-time and just five shy of the Bluffton career record.
