The Bluffton women's volleyball team was able to hold on and win against Denison University at home on October 10th by a score of 3-2 (10-15, 2-15, 15-12, 19-17, and 15-7). Bluffton advanced their record to 14-10 on the season.
Junior Mandy Pequignot led the team with 15 kills, but close behind her was senior Alison Harrer with 13. Leading the team with digs was senior Beth Weidus with 29 and Alison Harrer with 26. Junior Jaime Frisk landed eight aces and junior Erica Jellison had 49 assists.
Currently in the Heartland Conference, Bluffton (2-1) is ranked third behind Franklin (3-0) and Anderson (2-0). Mandy Pequignot is second in the conference with kills (280) and third with hitting percentage (.326). Erica Jellison is third in the conference with 679 assists and sixth with 31aces. Alison Harrer is fourth in the conference with 346 digs and Beth Weidus is seventh with 318 digs.
The Beavers will be back in Founders Hall for the Heartland Conference November 3rd and 4th. The Beavers next game was in conference action at Anderson on October 17th. BC will be traveling to Mount St. Joseph on October 20th and will then play at Hanover on October 21st.
