Anderson bounces Bluffton 86-70
Bluffton College fell to Anderson University Wednesday night 86-70 in Founders Hall. It was a battle of two 10-10 teams, who each also had two wins in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference. Anderson improves to 11-10 overall and 3-7 in the HCAC, while Bluffton saw their overall record slip to 10-11 and 2-7 in the HCAC.
Bluffton shot just 40% from the floor in the game and 38% from three-point land. Anderson, meanwhile, shot 62% from downtown and 55% overall on the BC home court, and hit 12 of 13 free throws.
The 16-point margin of victory for the Ravens was their largest lead of the night.
Bluffton's Jeremy Roberts (Bucyrus/Wynford) led all scorers with 21 points, his season average, and he added seven rebounds. Ben Coole (Butler/Clearfork) collected 13 points and five rebounds and added three blocks, a statistic in which he ranks first in the HCAC. Rod Overmyer (Payne/Wayne Trace) chipped in 10 for BC, while Chris Sheldon (Bucyrus/Wynford) dished out a game-high six assists, a statistic in which he ranks first in the HCAC.
Anderson placed five players in double figures, led by Mike Wingert with 18 points.
Bluffton will travel to Wilmington on Saturday for a 3:00 p.m. game. Their last home game of the season will tip-off next Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m. against Mount St. Joseph.
