Bluffton beats Wilmington for second straight HCAC win
The Bluffton College men's basketball team earned its' second straight win in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Saturday afternoon with a 99-75 win against Wilmington College in Founders Hall. The win improved Head Coach Guy Neal's squad to 9-7 overall and 2-3 in the HCAC.
Bluffton jumped out to a 12-2 lead and led by 20 points at halftime 51-31. BC led by as many as 31 points in the second half on their way to their 24 point win and their second 99 point offensive output of the season.
Bluffton hit a season high 13 three-point field goals, seven of which came from sophomore Rod Overmyer (Payne/Wayne Trace). He led all scorers with 27 points and also had a game-high eight rebounds.
Six Beavers hit for double figures, who shot 61.5% from the floor in the game, including 56.5% from beyond the arc. Junior Jeremy Roberts (Bucyrus/Wynford) scored 18 points and had seven rebounds as he was presented a game ball prior to the game for topping the 1,000 point career scoring mark last Wednesday against Franklin.
Jason Scott led Wilmington (7-9, 1-4 HCAC) with 23 points.
Bluffton will return to action Wednesday at 7:30 at Mount St. Joseph, broadcast on WDOH 107.1 FM.
