Tim Kay named Heartland Conference Hitter of the Week

BLUFFTON, Ohio -  Tim Kay (Alpharetta, GA/Blessed Trinity) has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Baseball Hitter of the Week for the week ending April 22, 2007. He was red-hot at the dish last week in helping the Beavers earn back-to-back wins over Hanover. 

The junior pitcher/designated hitter finished the week 16-of-24 (.667) at the plate with six runs scored, three doubles, two triples, five stolen bases, and six RBI. Kay had a slugging percentage of .958 during the week for the Beavers. 

In Saturday's doubleheader with Hanover, Kay finished a perfect 9-for-9 at the plate with four runs, three RBI, two doubles, a triple, and three stolen bases. He did this after picking up the complete game 6-1 win on the mound at Hanover on Friday night.

This season, Kay is hitting .458 to lead the team and has also chipped in four doubles and eight RBI.  Bluffton stands 3-11 in HCAC play and 3-12 overall.
