Baseball loses 16-15 to SVU, posts six homeruns on day

SARASOTA, FL. – The Bluffton College baseball team (2-2) dropped a heartbreaker on Wednesday, 16-15 to Southern Virginia in the EMU Spring Classic. Team celebrates Ryan Fiely's homerun

 

The Beavers started off the day down 4-0 only to rally back as the game continued, posting a nine-run third inning. The game would not go as planned however with Southern Virginia pulling away with the game in the top of the sixth.

Bluffton smacked out six homers for the contest. Riordan McClain and Jim Dwenger posted one homerun each with Kyle Alberson and Ryan Fiely bolting two homers Coach Grandey hits infieldfor the contest. The six homeruns are a
Bluffton College single game record. Jared Owens and Fiely posted a double each.

 

The Beavers will play Eastern Mennonite on Thursday in a doubleheader. Game time is scheduled at 3:30 pm.
