Computer Science

The Computer Science major is designed to provide students with a current, comprehensive knowledge of computer science, with a strong problem-solving orientation designed to prepare students for professional careers or graduate study in this ever-growing field. This is accomplished by placing the fundamental computer science core subjects within a framework of mathematics, science and the standard liberal arts program.

Computer science graduates have entered the work force, gone to graduate school in computer science, and gone to graduate school in engineering fields.

There is also a major in information systems which belongs to the Economics-Business-Accounting Department but is managed jointly with technology-related programs. The information systems major invloves more business/accounting courses and fewer science/math courses than the computer science major.
