The youth ministries major is for those who feel called to a wide range of youth ministry vocations, such as camping ministry, outdoor recreation ministries, congregational ministry and other youth-focused settings. You will be prepared for entry-level positions in these fields.
Graduates have become camp program directors, community outreach coordinators, congregational youth pastors, Youth for Christ directors and inner-city outreach workers.
The youth ministries major with a biblical or theological studies minor is best suited for those feeling called to a congregational ministry as a youth pastor or Christian education director. Majors are also encouraged to be fully engaged and involved in religious life leadership on campus as a means of training preparation and testing for their call to ministry.
This major can be completed in three years if you are a dedicated and ambitious student. Compare the three-year plan and the four-year plan. These plans should be considered as guidelines only when planning your study at Bluffton.
