Conferencing is Bluffton University's new restorative approach to student sanctioning. Once the referral process has begun, willing students will be guided to fill out the form below, schedule a conference with others involved in the situation for which the student has been referred and the director of residence life (Jackie Wells).
Conferencing is used as a supplement to sanctioning in order to build a stronger community and to help students work through their issues together. Through this process, students come face to face with those that have been affected by their actions. Conferencing is centered around conversation rather than punishment.
