Recent activities:

I developed a May-term cross-cultural trip to New Orleans and led the first trip to the city in May of 2003.  I also served as co-leader for the trip in May, 2004.  The trip centers around racial and environmental justice issues and, in addition to the time that we spend in New Orleans, involves several days visiting with Native American friends in the bayou area southwest of the city.  The next cross-cultural trip to New Orleans will be in May of 2006.

I am currently serving on the Pathways Implementation Team and have special responsibilities for the Women-to-Ministry portion of the Pathways program.  In this role, I am coordinating plans for a Women-in-Ministry conference that will be held at Bluffton during the Spring semester of 2005-2006.  I am also working with Mennonite Church USA in developing a survey of women pastors.  This survey will explore progress by comparing current answers to those obtained from a similar survey completed in 1992.

I am currently in the midst of planning for my sabbatical for the 2006-07 school year, and hope to do research on peacemaking in post-conflict societies during that time.  I traveled to Northern Ireland in May 2005 to explore possibilities for research there.
