Accent! is the male chorus on the Bluffton University campus. Since its inception in the fall of 2004, it has grown in size each year. Accent! performs a varied repertoire of choral music at several on-campus performances each year, and occasional off-campus performances.
Membership is open to any male student and there is no audition required. Expectations for the ensemble include improvement of musicality, knowledge of score reading, knowledge of different periods and styles of music, and become exposed to various composers, languages, and cultures from across the globe. Each member of the group will gain improvement in their tone, diction, as well as gain a greater understanding of group dynamics, community building, and the ability and importance of communication between choir and audience.
Students may sign up either for credit or zero credit. The zero credit option exists for students who are carrying a full load but wish to continue their participation in the choir.
